so you are expecting a baby? what next?

Congratulations!!! To you who is expecting a baby. It is very important to prepare your home for your family’s new addition and this process is a fun way for the future parents to decide together on how to make their baby comfortable so i will be sharing a few tips on what to consider and the steps to take in setting up a baby nursery.

Choose the room: no matter the theme you want for the nursery, whether it be classy, trendy or cosy, choose a room that is airy. Clear out anything you will not be needing so as to allow easy cleaning of the surfaces and walls. Babies are allergic to dust and mold so the room should be as clean as possible. Avoid using harsh chemicals stick to cleaners with non-toxic ingredients.

v  Pick a theme for decorating the nursery: you can pick any colour that suits you or a favorite cartoon character or you could even come up with your own designs. Pick wall arts that match your theme. It is very good to create a good visual impact.

v  Decorate the room: in decorating the room, use curtains that fit the theme you have chosen, avoid black out curtains because it is very important to teach your baby the difference between night and day. Use furniture’s that are safe for kids, fix in a chair that is comfortable for you to rock your baby. Use a crib that is simple as possible. Avoid blanket, toys, and pillows till your baby is one year old.

v Organize your baby things: it’s good to have a dresser to organize all of your baby clothes and the dresser will be of great help if it has a surface big enough for changing diapers. Shelves are good organizers for your baby items as it aids it ensuring similar items are grouped together and stored in one place. Diapers and everything you need for changing should be kept within reach. Organization is key because you will amazed at the stuff you would have acquired especially if it is your first baby.

v  Involve a professional: you will be spending a lot of time in the baby’s room and you will need all part of the nursery to look its best, so there is no harm in getting the help of an expert nursery decorator.
